Embarking on the GiveWise Journey through My Personal Lens: The founding story of Tammy Kyte

In 2018, a phone call came that would alter the course of my life forever. The proposition was to embark on the journey of establishing a new organization with a noble mission: to transform lives through transparency, efficiency, and accessibility in generosity. This concept aimed to generate more resources to positively impact communities. Despite the success and contentment my husband and I had achieved through our home building business over the past 15 years, an undeniable feeling of resonance with this idea took hold of us. It was as though we intuitively recognized that this was the right path to pursue, even if it meant venturing into an entirely new career.

The endeavor we embraced seamlessly intertwined finance, technology, and philanthropy, making it a remarkable learning experience. Every Zoom meeting found me frantically searching for unfamiliar acronyms, attempting to keep pace with the discussions. So much was new and required diligent exploration.

Over time, however, I found my rhythm and realized that many of the leadership skills that played a role in constructing homes were equally valuable when building a team and developing software. Working side by side with my husband, Dan, has been an immense pleasure, as we have together assembled a remarkable team of individuals who share a profound dedication to their work. The blessings we have received in the form of exceptional employees and board members cannot be overstated.

One of the most gratifying aspects of my current role is the opportunity to dream about enhancing our platform to better serve the donors and charities we collaborate with. Additionally, the weekly interactions with remarkable individuals fill me with joy, granting me a unique perspective on the incredible endeavors they are undertaking. This constant exposure to the positive endeavors of others provides me with a refreshingly optimistic outlook on the world.
